Technicians successfully installed the Venado supercomputer at the Nicholas C. Metropolis Center for Modeling and Simulation on March 26 in Los Alamos. The new HPE Cray EX supercomputer was unveiled to representatives of the Department of Energy, the National Nuclear Security Administration, co-designers Hewlett Packard Enterprise, and Nvidia, the manufacturer of its GH200 Grace Hopper Superchips.
These superchips are expected to outperform previous chip technology by executing millions more instructions per second while consuming lower power.
